About

Hi, I’m Ben.

I am a photographer based on beautiful Bribie Island who specialises in water & underwater photography.

A childhood filled with competitive swimming and a constant love for surfing and wave riding of any genre, it was probably inevitable that my focus would one day turn to surf photography. That was over 15 years ago.

During that period I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to chase swells all over Australia and the world with friends for leading surf and bodyboard magazines.

My passion eventually moved from capturing surfers to the beauty, isolation and colours that can only be experienced when chasing empty waves at first light.

The last 6 years has featured a move to Bribie Island which is located in South East Queensland and becoming a dad to my two greatest achievements in life, Emmy & Noah.

Family + Adventures, these are the most important things to me.

I draw a huge amount of inspiration for my work from spending time with my family in the ocean and chasing remote adventures in the outdoors.

Since becoming a father 6 years ago, my number one goal has been to be a positive role model for my two children (Emmy & Noah); teaching them of the importance and fulfilment that comes from living a life outdoors in nature and chasing their dreams. At every spare opportunity we try to head away in our Toyota Landcruiser Troopcarrier and aim to fill the kids life with an education of remote adventures and experiences. These can usually be found on my YouTube channel, which has been a great outlet for learning new skills and connecting with others.

Today, when home you will still fine me regularly in the ocean at dawn or in the Glasshouse Mountains chasing adventure and beautiful landscapes.

Recently i’ve began to combine my love of families, underwater photography & my experience working as a learn to swim teacher into shooting underwater portraits. The water, the light and the challenge of creating something unique and lasting has me absolutely hooked.
